OLD WORLD MEETS
HIGH TECH

Biochar or terra preta, comes from wood or other parts of plants that have been charred in the absence of oxygen at high temperatures. The process is ancient. Charcoal burners have been producing charcoal in their kilns since the Iron Age.

Today at ProE Bioenergie, this is done under modern and more efficient conditions through pyrolysis, i.e. gasification in an oxygen-poor environment. This means that the calorific value of our material is largely preserved, and the CO2 that was previously absorbed by the plant can be bound in the coal in the long term. A valuable raw material is created, from which soils and animals benefit in agriculture, and also opens up numerous possible uses, for example in construction and energy generation. In most applications, even with negative CO2 footprint, because the carbon dioxide is not released.

“Our ProE “Our ProE biochar is a great raw material.
It’s been proven historically and now as an equally
a high-tech material, that can contribute to
the economy and environmental protection.”

BIOCOAL — A RAW MATERIAL
WITH MANY
APPLICATIONS

Our ProE biochar can be used in a variety of ways, is also inexpensive and environmentally sustainable. This almost universally usable raw material is not only great for agriculture with its soil management and livestock farming, but also in construction, energy storage and many other industries.  A wide variety of industries use high-quality biochar.

APPLICATIONS:

  • Charcoal
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Cosmetics
  • Pet food additive
  • Energy storage
  • Adsorbent for
    emission control systems
  • Carbon fibers
  • Construction industry
  • Manufacture of carbides
  • Carbon enrichment in metallurgy
  • Carbon source for tires, rubber, and plastics

ProE ORGANIC COAL
THE HIGHEST CLASS

Our biochar is produced using the green carbon process. Here, the starting material is heated to a temperature of approx. 450°C in air-tight reactors in a batch process. The biochar produced in this way meets the highest quality criteria.

ADVANTAGES OF ProE BIOCOAL Carbio:

  1. A very high carbon content of > 80 % (up to > 95 % possible)
  2. Great surface for nutrient and water storage
  3. Energy efficient and environmentally friendly manufacturing
  4. Approval as an animal feed additive
  5. Pharmaceutical grade
  6. Batch production, full reproducibility and traceability
